Venture Sotheby's International Realty
Real Estate Agent
Akemi comes to real estate with an extensive background in both the hospitality industry and as an entrepreneur.

She started her career working for C.Itoh & Co. (one of the largest Japanese general trading companies) and in the brokerage business for Merrill Lynch and Lehman Brothers in Tokyo. She then worked as a Guest Service Manager for Sheraton Maui where she discovered her passion for customer service.

For over two decades she has owned and run a successful international online activities company. Highly focused on client customer satisfaction, this commitment to excellence extended to co-workers and vendors, and has created a strong portfolio of repeat clientele.

No matter the position, many who have worked with Akemi rave about her sincere, trustworthy and personable style and strong business ethic.

Akemi brings the same commitment to each real estate transaction, whether it’s a first-time buyer or a seasoned investor looking to add to their investment portfolio. Her goal is to ensure that she represents her client to the best of her ability and create a memorable experience in the process. Partnering with the Venture Sotheby’s team was also a way to align herself and her clients with excellence.

Originally from Tokyo Japan, Akemi graduated from Tokyo Woman’s Christian University and continued her education by obtaining a Business Administration degree from St. Mary’s College of California.

Akemi has lived in Waikoloa for 20 years with her husband and three sons. She enjoys watching her sons play soccer, Japanese cooking, and pampering her two golden retrievers.

She has been an active member of her local church and also participated as a volunteer at the Ironman World Championship in Kona since moving to Hawaii Island.
